Andy McCue – writer, editor, climber

Andy is modest. He writes on his LinkedIn profile about “13 years’ experience in business-to-business, consumer and customer publishing across print and digital platform”. What he doesn’t say – which he should – is that he’s among the best professional writers out there.

I hired him in 2003, gave him a platform and he came to have the leading rolodex (no one used them even in 2003 but let’s run with the metaphor) of CIOs. That takes tenacity, empathy, nerve and an eye for what’s important.

He makes the list of Collectivists this year not because I can personally vouch for him (which is a given for everyone who features here) but because he’s now ploughing his own furrow and a catch for anyone commissioning commercial or journalistic assignments.
