Work with us

Are you looking for your next role, freelance commissions or partnering with a content agency, as a complementary supplier?

We are always on the look out for the people and companies we’ll be working with next.

We are interested in you if you are interested in how the world works. We value anyone who can make sense of complex subject matter for other people.

Given that, you won’t be surprised that two things that we deeply care about are curiosity and mastery. Both are essential for creating outstanding content.

Does that sound like you?

Or are you versed in running an agency – selling, managing accounts, looking after finances, HR and more? We have an ambitious three-year growth plan and want to talk to people who can get us there.

As a full-time or part-time team member, we offer remote and hybrid working options.

While we mainly prioritise flexible working and fair pay (being transparent about what we pay – see below), we also offer reimbursed travel and access to a sustainable central London co-working hub.

Our staff retention rates are higher than agency averages — in a similar way that our client retention is industry leading. (You could say the two go hand in hand.)

As with our clients, we work with people from all around the world, from all backgrounds.

Freelancers contribute about 10 per cent of our output, and work on an asset, project or short-term contract basis. We are especially plugged in to communities of writers, designers, animators and film-makers.

If any of that sounds like you, drop us a line at info@collectivecontent.agency

Team profiles

Shirley Siluk

Name: Shirley Siluk

Position: Senior Editor

Location: Northwest Florida, US

Did you ever have a ‘big break’?
I’ve had quite a few biggish breaks. But the one that set me on the path to tech journalism was becoming an editor and writer at Web Hosting Magazine, where I wrote a monthly column and in-depth articles about all kinds of IT and internet topics. I even emceed a wrestling-themed (yes!) awards ceremony at the magazine’s splashy convention in Washington, DC. Great fun – until the dot-com crash, when the magazine went under.

In work, when are you happiest?
As much as I love writing, I can really get lost in research for a new project. I love going down the information rabbit hole and digging until I find what I’m looking for. And I make it my mission to trace quotes, stats and other information to their original sources. It really helps to build a deeper understanding of a topic before I start to write.

Best concert ever attended?
Preservation Hall Jazz Band live in New Orleans. Great venue, super-talented veteran musicians. Just a transcendent experience.

Tony Hallett says: I started working with Shirley over a decade ago while we were both helping @Dan Illett with his consultancy (thanks Dan!). She then came to our network of writers around 2015 and has worked on all kinds of projects. You won’t find someone who is kinder, more appreciated and expert in critical professional areas. We love Shirley.

Fiona Skilton

Name: Fiona Skilton

Position: Client Services Director

Location: London, UK

Did you ever have a ‘big break’?
I consider myself to have had three big breaks. The first was my first ever marketing job having spent two years applying. The second was running my own company for a while and selling it to another agency. The third is landing my role here at CC. I am finally home 😊

Best concert ever attended?
Red Hot Chili Peppers, Hyde Park 2004. They are my favourite band ever and James Brown was the support act. The sun was shining and we were about 5 rows from the stage. It was incredible!

How many times have you called emergency services?
Weirdly I have called 999 quite a few times. Mostly ambulances for other people, once the fire brigade and a couple of times for the police. Useful facts: 112 connects you to emergency services whichever country you’re in, and what3words is very useful in pinpointing your exact location.

In work, when are you happiest?
I’m happiest in work when we’re coming up with new ideas as a team to help solve our client’s challenges. Then seeing those ideas come to life and delivering results for our clients. I get a real buzz from that.

Tony Hallett says:
Fiona has been with us from the start of 2022, becoming our fourth director. So much that’s good here at CC is down to Fiona. That’s in part because of the experience she brings – big agency, small agency, in and out of tech marketing – but at least as much because she’s just a first-class leader and operator. We wouldn’t be where we are and punching above our weight without Fiona. Glad to have you “home”, Fiona.

Eve Michell

Name: Eve Michell

Position: Content Manager

Location: Rochester, UK

Favourite style of content to create?
It’s hard to choose, but my top three would be social media content (particularly LinkedIn writing), SEO articles and long-form content informed by interviews with subject matter experts. I enjoy the mix of speaking to experts and conducting desk research to create something deep and informative.

In work, when are you happiest?
I love when we work together at our coworking space in London, where get to have the kind of conversations that don’t always spark when we’re working remotely. I also love going to client events and conferences. I’m happiest when I get to enjoy a healthy balance of being out in the real world and focused work on my own.

Word/phrase that makes you angry
I can be a bit of a pedant, like most writers/editors. One that really grinds my gears is ‘I could care less.’ Don’t you mean you ‘couldn’t’?! See also: ‘generally’ in place of ‘genuinely’.

Tony Hallett says: We struck gold with Eve. At the height of the pandemic, she applied for an entry-level job here, on a long list of 400 candidates brought to us by Big Creative Education. And, since making the cut, Eve hasn’t looked back, working her way up through her hard work, talent and love of the job. One of the best young talents I’ve witnessed in either media or agencyland, I will hunt down anyone who tries to poach her 😐.
