Collectivist #2: The platform guy

WRITTEN BY

Tony Hallett
Managing director

Tony set up Collective Content in 2011 so brands can more easily become publishers and tell stories. This built on 15 years in media, from reporter to publishing director at Silicon Media Group, CNET Networks and CBS Interactive.

It’s the last Friday of the month which means it is time for another Collectivist – someone Collective Content rates so highly we have no hesitation in recommending them.

All change on the platform
Compound Media was started in 2006 by Mike Barrett (@mjbarrett), who was before that the head of technology at CNET Networks when I was there as the editor of silicon.com.

They do consulting and project management for a range of businesses. And for publishers the company’s Jump Suite is a platform for an age where web, mobile, newsletters and social media are becoming equally important.

At Collective Content we like this. Of course these days the definition of ‘publisher’ is being stretched – in good ways – so Mike’s background working with all kinds of clients means Jump Suite could be underpinning sites in plenty of places.

This ties in well with growth areas such as content marketing – an area where Collective Content is increasingly seeing clients place bets.
Alongside us, Mike works with a range of partners, all of whom bring different expertise to the table.

Go on, give him a call.
